I must be a glutton for punishment because not only have I done this event before but this will be my 3rd time. It's simple: a podcast episode a day for 30 days. But I'm throwing in a YouTube video also because I 'm currently living in Split, Croatia and want to share the gorgeous scenery around me while I work through this month's content.
That content is organizing the creative and business side of my podcast editing life. This content may be helpful if you're a new podcast editor or want to be one, freelancing or with your own small business. Listen to the podcast episode here: podcasteditingplus.substack.com/p/napodpomo-year-3-day-1-introduction-599 OR Watch the YouTube video (below) Unlike other years, I will NOT be creating a blog post for each page but focusing instead on the podcast, videos and engagement on the socials.

Today's episode is about covid, plain and simple. All month we've heard previous guests on the different Geopats Podcasts check in on what they've been up to since their first episode with us AND reflect back on that previous conversation. Today, we hear from them about how covid effected them this year. The answers run the range of emotions. I thank them all heaps for their honesty and openness about this matter.

Have you ever gone back to a place that you struggled in the first time? Would you ever? Our guest today is my dear friend Miicher and she did just this. The first time we chatted was in December 2018 on Geopats Reflections. We were both living in Shanghai, China and if I am honest, we were both ready to leave. However, after returning to Florida, USA, she had a change of mind and went back to China this month. I don't want to spoil what led her to this decision, what she's doing there or any other juicy details because she tells her story way better than I ever could. So have a listen to Miicher fill us in on what's happened for her over the past 2 years AND what she thinks of her 2018 China expat self in this reflective conversation. And thanks Miicher, for taking the time out of your super busy work day to record this convo!

Today we are happily breaking our NaPodPoMo previous guest format for a special interview. I had the extreme pleasure of chatting with Damon Castillo for this episode. Yes, THE Damon Castillo of the Mess of Me album that we've been using for the past 2 years in all of the Geopats Podcast Network shows. We talk about the longevity of the Damon Castillo Band, his geopatness, my favorite song on the Mess of Me Album (Saint Cecilia), his recording studio in San Luis Obispo, what music he listens to and some creative struggles. Thank you Damon for taking the time to come on the podcast AND for letting us use these tunes for the network.

What was your first online habit> Yesterday we heard from Comedian Andy Curtain about what he's been up to since we chatted last year. In today's episode, we dive into a 10 minute clip from that original conversation/episode with Andy on Geopats Online, where we track how people's onlineness changes when their location changes. And yes, as you can see from the title of this episode, we hit on all important online (and offline?) innovations along the way.

About 2 years ago Comedian Andy Curtain let us dig into his virtual past on Geopats Online (then called Virtual Expats). In that interview, we dug into how his online habits changed when he moved from Australia to Shanghai, China more than a decade before. And of course, since then he has moved again, down to Hong Kong specifically. It's so easy to drop all creative projects when relocating to a new place but Andy not only kept his creative juices flowing but he pivoted his podcast presence to reflect his new place and his more permanent role in the comedy community there.

Where is that line between fiction and real life? This is one of the things we highlight from our original conversation on Geopats Books with Author of the expat series that started with the book Parsley and Coriander, Antonella Moretti.

When I first chatted with Antonella Moretti in Spring 2019, we both lived in China and had creative projects as long as could we. But 2020 being what it is and Antonella being as thoughtful and eloquent as she is, the intensity of this year has turned into a creative contemplation period. She shares this and other updates on her life in this candid reflection episode. From the bottom of my heart Antonella, thank you for taking the time to record these honest and touching thoughts.

What do you get when 3 Podcasters compare their experiences about publishing a podcast a day for 22 days (of the 30 day challenge of NaPodPoMo, National Podcast Posting Month)? An honest chat about our challenges, successes and inevitably, editing discoveries during this experience thus far.
