As with all attraction strategies, you’ve got to BE somewhere for people to find you. This is also true for podcast distribution platforms. Let's look at all the places your podcast could be to maximize exposure. I’m sure that you’re on Apple Podcasts and Spotify but if your ideal clients are looking for a keyword (that’s in your SEO strong podcast name and/or episode titles) on another platform and you’re not there: BOOM, that’s a missed connection.
The good news: you only have to get listed in these places ONCE. Thanks to James Cridland at Podnews for creating and maintaining this excellent list. Time saving tip: Get your spreadsheets ready and get on these platforms one at a time. Your podcast host might have an easy sign up process for some of these, so check there first. Whatever your podcast host can’t help you with, you’ll have to do yourself. Some platforms add your podcast instantly and some take awhile, thus the need for a spreadsheet, to keep track of when you requested to be added and when it is done. The processes are all a little different but you will need: -your podcast RSS feed (copied from your podcast host) -name and possibly description of your podcast so have those handy before you start.
